Fri 16th - Sun 18th May North East Vegan Gathering at Haggerston Castle, Beal, near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 2PA. It is a 5-star Haven holiday park and in beautiful historic grounds with a boating lake and swimming pools. Many facilities are included in the price such as swimming, sports, children's clubs and entertainment and there are many other activities available for a reasonable charge. The beach, Lindisfarne and Hadrian's Wall are all nearby. There will be two group meals when we all bring food to share, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. We have arranged to hire a room during the daytime for them and are hoping to put on a children's party after one of the meals. It is a self-catering holiday so you will need to bring food with you or buy it locally. There are some takeaways etc. on site but they probably won't have much for vegans. This project is run by volunteers and is non-profit-making. To make sure that it remains a vegan event, you must be completely vegan for the time you are there but you don't have to be vegan to attend. There is still one double room in a shared caravan available for £50 and a whole caravan for £150 (sleeps 8). You can get more details about the park here: www.havenholidays.com/Parks/scotlandNorthumberland/haggerstoncastle If you would like further details, email fj.flanagan@btinternet.com and put NEVG INFO REQUEST in the subject line.
